Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • Milk 400 ml
  • Cream 400 ml
  • Vanilla essence ½ tsp
  • Egg yolks 4
  • Caster sugar ½ Cup

Method

  1. In a pot, add milk, cream and vanilla essence, bring it to a boil while mixing continuously (4-5 minutes).
  2. Remove from heat and whisk until it comes to room temperature.
  3. In a bowl, add egg yolks, caster sugar and beat until it changes colour.
  4. Now gradually add the milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisk until well combined and strain it.
  5. Put it back on the stove, whisk until custard thickens and let it cool.
  6. Pour the mixture into an air tight container and freeze for 4 hours.
  7. Take it out from the freezer, beat for 2 minutes, cover and freeze for 4 hours.
  8. Again take it out from the freezer, beat again and put it in the freezer for at least 4 hours before serving.
